Sam Claflin was born Samuel George Claflin on 27 June 1986, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England

Sam was very passionate about soccer in his early years

Sam attended ‘Costessey High School’ (presently known as Ormiston Victory Academy) in Norfolk where he caught the attention of a teacher who encouraged him to take up acting

Later on, Claflin went to ‘London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art’ from where he earned his graduate degree in 2009.

Sam Claflin has English and American ancestry

Newton Cleveland Claflin, his paternal great-grandfather, hailed from Revere, Massachusetts

As a child, Claflin wanted to become a professional football player and played throughout his childhood

However, he broke his ankle, and it prevented him to fulfill his dream

Claflin became the member of Norwich City School of Excellence and took up Performing Arts program at Norwich City College

After graduation, he went on to study at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and graduated in 2009.

Sam attended Costessey High School in Norwich, UK.

After finishing high school, he continued his education at Norwich City College, where he studied Performing Arts.

Sam is good friends with Douglas Booth.

As a child, he dreamed of being a pirate.

His younger brother Joseph Claflin is also an actor.
